MCA #4, Sunday Afternoon
You know, Sparkle was impulsive, but he was not that special sort of impulsive that would have involved him going outside today. Much as he loved his job. Much as he worried about his business. Even Sparkle sometimes had the good sense to listen to the radio and hear about people being kidnapped by goblins, and then look out the window to see the sprawling maze that had sprouted up outside, and then shake his head and go, "Nope. Not today, Fandom."
And so he was in the apartment, laying on his back on the living room floor, staring up at the ceiling and singing 'Baby Shark' to himself in a fit of boredom.
Loudly.
Give him ten minutes and he'd go find his tin whistle and try to figure out how to play it on that, next.
[OOC: Open for texts, phone calls, other people in the building who just want to stop hearing 'doo doo doo doo' through the walls, whatever!]

Chased, perhaps. Never chaste nor chastened. I'll keep an eye out. Dani's coming down again and wants to hit another market. I think she's looking for matching trim of the female variety. He wouldn't put it past her, anyway.
no subject
It'd give him another excuse to spend some time away from Constantly-trying-to-kill-him-ville.
no subject
Now I'm going to look for some as an excuse for you to come back here, Hernando sent back. A beat. I miss you.
no subject
There was a pause, and then there was a follow-up text.
Maybe an apartment for a month or two in Baltimore, though...
no subject
We have not gone to Iceland, Hernando agreed, Do you want me to see about a house rental on the mainland? That might solve quite a few problems quite nicely. We could stay there until the island bullshit is over and still have access to our shops on the days it is safe to go to the shops.
no subject
It'd be a place to go to not die for a while, while still being reasonably close to the island. Whenever the island was reasonably close to Earth, anyway. And all with the added bonus of stuff to do, because he'd been staring at the ceiling singing Baby Shark for fucking hours, today.
no subject
Alright. I'll see if I can find something with immediate availability and see if I can't come back tomorrow so we can pick up groceries and stuff for it. If the damn island is available tomorrow. He wouldn't make a bet. I bet I could find something neat on AirBnB. Was he pulling out his laptop and looking right now? Yes.
If I come home tomorrow, is there anything from Mexico you want me to bring you?
no subject
... It was a addiction but Sparkle could totally quit any time.
no subject
Baby, I can make you fresh churros once we have a kitchen, Hernando said, but I will bring you a few to tide you over. Because he was a sucker. What do you think of this place?
He sent a link to a listing. It was a 'guest cottage' someone had built in their back yard. It was on a bus line into the city and described as an 'artist's cottage'. It had a large bed, a bathroom with a shower and a separate clawfooted tub, a smallish but full kitchen, a tiny living room/dining area that looked to be part of the kitchen and a little 'studio' space. Complete with an easel. Would we go crazy in a space this small? Should I look for something bigger?
no subject
He was not thinking about bathing in it, no.
no subject
We would have to be careful in the tub but I'm sure we can manage. He was also not thinking of bathing. He was also grinning like a grinning thing. Alright. I booked it. I'm going to catch a portal in about four hours to pick up the key from the lockbox. So the question is.. just how much do you miss me? Enough for a late dinner?
no subject
I could probably get a portal up on the roof if I ask really nicely and the gnomes actually managed to find their way in to the office today, but there's no guarantee the roof is a roof, either. Can I make it up to you tomorrow, babe? Dinner on me?
He would show up with a light dusting of ashes on his shoulders and smelling of smoke. How romantic!
no subject
I can wait one more day, Hernando replied, I would rather you be safe.
no subject
Safe is the plan, I promise. Hey, maybe I'll luck out and the island will be back to normal tomorrow!
... Ha. Hahahaha. Haaaaaa.
no subject
That would be nice. Will you be bringing the plants and Milady? Though if they'd survived so far..
no subject
I might bring Milady maybe? Pauline's survived Fandom's bullshit for yeeears but Milady's like an old man in fish years.
And he kinda loved his fish.
no subject
If you will worry about Milady, bring Milady, Hernando replied reasonably, He will fit in a large tupperware until he gets here and we can buy a proper bowl at this end.
no subject
A tank. A tank with a filter. He's gotta have at least a filter.
Bettas didn't need quite as much air in their water as other fish, maybe, but Sparkle wasn't going to let that stop him from making sure the water was at least clean.
no subject
Alright, baby. I will find a small tank with a filter for Milady and make sure the water is ready for him tomorrow. Because Sparkle was clearly worried about Milady.
no subject
Thank you, babe. <3 Milady says thank you too.
And a photo of the fish. Just... bein' a fish. As fishes do.
no subject
I will see you tomorrow.
He had a fish tank to go buy.
